I've been a work/life consultant to individuals for over 15 years... I've written a book and blogged and blogged for the Huffington Post – but, on a different topic. In this blog, I plan to write about what I've been immersed in over the past 15+ years of my practice: work and life.

It turns out that I like to write and although I consider myself a constant learner and student of life, through my varied experiences, work and clients, I've accumulated some insights.

I know there is a ton written about work these days, and I'm concerned about being just one more voice trying to tell people what to do, or claiming to be the expert. What I hope is to add insight or clarity to your thinking about your work/life. I tend toward practicality and so will be likely to take even an emotional topic and address it with a here and now sort of perspective.

I've gotten some incredible questions from people over the course of my practice and up till now have always answered verbally; now, I'll write some of the answers to questions I've been asked. I've also had the joy of working with a slew of wonderful clients, and have seen patterns emerge that I'd like to explore in the written form. I will maintain every client's privacy to the utmost degree. I'm fascinated by all the information coming out about the brain, am interested in psychology, and read widely from history to how the world works to spirituality. I've got a background in politics and am an options trader so keep up with business and economic news - as a result I weave together information and observations from a lot of different places.

My philosophy is that we are each idiosyncratic individuals, who benefit from cluing in on what makes us tick, and how that can be useful or expressed in the world. Discerning those core motivations and then making a work/life around them is not necessarily an obvious thing to do for most people. Those of us who are motivated by purposeful work can learn from each other. I'd love to hear from you, get your feedback to specific posts, or your observations and questions. Your stuck place could help someone else get moving. If you are the sort of person interested in becoming more of who you truly are through your work, I hope you'll stick around.
